Real price ranges for a professional full respray in Costa Rica, what drives the price up, and how to read a quote before you commit.
A professional full respray in Costa Rica typically runs from about ₡400,000 for a compact car in factory color up to ₡1,200,000 or more for SUVs, pickups, or pearl and specialty colors. The real price depends on body condition, paint system (Roberlo and BESA with 3M prep), color type, and vehicle size.
Sometimes nothing — often it is the finish. A shop that sprays outdoors without a controlled booth or disciplined cure cycles can look fine at three months and be lifting at a year. A professional booth, supervised cure, and branded materials cost more because the job lasts.
Full color changes, pearl or metallic tones, old filler that has to come off, rusted panels that need replacement, and full trim teardown (moldings, emblems, bumpers) move the number the most. A quote that does not mention any of these probably did not see the car.
A serious quote lists: body condition before paint, prep work (filler, sand, repair), paint system and brand, number of coats, teardown, final polish, and a written warranty. If it is not in writing, you cannot hold anyone accountable later.
At Uvita Body Shop we quote from photos on WhatsApp before you bring the car. The estimate is free, and we tell you if it is worth doing now or if you should wait.
